Vulnerable Children

Currently we are working with The Ark in Somerset West. We are involved with children in the crèche, grade R and grade 1 classes.
We offer:-

  • Occupational Therapy screenings
  • Regular OT for the child if indicated
  • Referrals of children to paediatricians, psychologists, speech and hearing therapists if needed – all costs covered by Nthando
  • Training to teachers in first aid and early childhood development

We are planning on doing our first parent workshop in the third term.

We also bless them annually with resources they need.

Upliftment Education

We aim to bring the love of Christ to the disadvantaged through Education, empowerment & community support.

We manage two Early Childhood Development sites with 170 children & have a home where we house, disciple & assist in relational rehabilitation within the family unit.

Shelter & Rehabilition

  • We offer accommodation and social services to the homeless in the helderberg area.
  • We feed 3 meals a day as well and clothe the folk that stay here.
  • We offer all social services including reunification with family members, applying for government grants, ID books etc.
  • We facilitate health needs whether mental health issues or other.
  • We offer skills training were possible and are currently running sewing classes twice a week.
  • We also extend these services to the homeless community that do not reside in our shelter.
  • We are in the process of upgrading the cottages in the front of the shelter in conjunction with the city of Cape Town and will have a day centre up and running once this is done.

People Trafficking

STOP is a registered non-profit Christian organization that exists to combat all aspects of human trafficking within South Africa and the rest of Africa.

Mission Statement:
STOP (Stop Trafficking Of People) aims to combat all aspects of human trafficking within South Africa and the rest of Africa, through advocacy, raising awareness and victim intervention and restoration.

In addition STOP endeavors to mobilize and empower communities to get proper structures in place and to partner with other organizations in the field to ensure optimal efficiency.

Sinekamva’s main objectives are to provide emotional and spiritual care to hospitalised patients, their families and their carers in a professional, passionate and caring manner by focusing on whole person care—body, mind, and spirit.

Helping Rape Survivors

We help with the intervention of rape victims 18 years and older men and women Counselling of adult survivors of child sexual abuse. Help with court preparation. Talks at schools churches and groups. We have a second hand shop and any donation welcome All our services are free.

Community School Project

We are a school for Children at Risk. Tereo Community School is registered with the Western Cape Education Department.

Tereo gives care, education, food and clothing to the children in our care.

We bring the good news of Salvation to these children.

Our goal is to be able to place the children back into mainstream schools where they can excel and become that person which God has planned for their lives.

Crisis Pregnancy Counselling

  • We provide pre- and post- abortion counseling to women experiencing crisis pregnancies.
  • We run a second hand baby needs shop (Amasekeni) and we provide All new Gift Bags to ladies deciding to parent their babies.
  • We present a Healthy Sexuality abstinence based programme in schools, with a view to prevent unwanted pregnancies.
  • We provide a Skills Development Programme, where ladies from local communities get training in Basic Computer Skills and do a Cashiers’ course at minimal costs. These courses allow especially disadvantaged ladies with opportunities to find employment.
  • We network with adoption agencies in cases where ladies decide to release their babies for adoption.
